[Zmagnette] Wiring diagrams and windscreens

I'm sorry to say I need a black & white version, all done up in the shades of grey that were used in my car's harness. At least, every wire I've ever looked at is grey unless I peel back the loom way far up there. And I think the tracer colors are more of pattern of oil & grease spots. Wiring with real colors must be nice.  :-)

Hi Steve,

I like your idea.  Put me in for one.

I Concur with Mr. Kirby! Even $5 makes this an outstanding deal... (MUCH cheaper than therapy!)

This is what I did with mine:

The actual size of the paper is 16" x 24". I first made a clear (tweaking the contrast & brightness a wee bit) B/W copy on my home printer/copier then taped a copy of the wiring key to the top, then off to FedEx Office/Kinko's (I wish...) to enlarge 150% and laminate both sides. This whole process cost about $11 as I recall. It is clear enough to read easily yet small enough to be taped to one door of my wall cabinets. The advantages are that A) it is big enough to see, B) you can easily trace each circuit as you are working on it with a dry erase marker of your choice, then wipe it right off as you have completed the circuit, and C) the wire color codes are right up from the schematic and it is very easy to just shift your eyes a bit to see which wire color you are working with. For the one I did on my  GT also has the numerical key of components/diagram numbers attached to the bottom and it is 3' x 4', attached to the inside of my garage door. The one
for the GT cost about $20 all in.

As an ex-draughtsman (with schematic experience), I would caution anyone trying to re-draw this schematic to make sure that ALL information (such as terminal designations) are caught and transferred accurately. We used to have this thing called "draftsman's humor" that would cause us to put some sneaky bit of detail into the drawing that would identify us (as artists) to those with enough savvy to catch and appreciate the included quirks. And these drawings are of an age and origin that would absolutely guarantee that they were the product of one man on a drafting table with ink pen on mylar for durability... and thus created by talented hand by an unsung artist - with a sense of humor (we would hope)!

That being said, I would be more than happy to take my drawing, update the wiring of the wiper motor (as seen correctly in the MGA 1600 Mk II schematic) and include both the red (#41) wire that feeds the light on the clock and the (#40) Brown with black trace wire that controls the interior light from the front door switches, and supply them to anyone on request for cost. Both of these details (though sadly not the correction of the wiring for the self parking wiper motor) are shown correctly on page N.20 of the Magnette Issue 2 (8324-5/57) copy of AKD573 WSM as being for LHD (With flashing indicators - commencing car ZB18577)
