The oil fill on the axle? Get a 7/16" piece of bar stock, put a 90° bend in it, and cut off one leg to be an inch and a half or so long. Instant filler/drain plug tool.

There’s a fellow in Michigan who goes to John Twist’s summer parties who sells the illusive differential oil fill plug wrench. Nortier, maybe Rob? MaybeJjohn could enlighten us on that. I bought one from him about 10 years ago. Works like a charm.

Thanks Lann!  We have a community college in town -  I'll start with them.  And thanks also for the Sherline link.

Holiday Cheers,
Allen

>>Steve T: I have another idea for a project - a serpentine crankshaft pulley for a five-main MGB engine, along with a matching pulley for the water pump,  would be on the top of my wishlist. Preferably, make the crankshaft pulley in the form of a harmonic balancer, but beggars cannot be choosers...

>>Steve K, you will need that octagonal socket when you get to working on your Magnette rear axle.  Unlike you, I totally forgot I already had one of these and was looking for a hex wrench to do the trick. ' Bet I spent over a week looking for one before I realized even the right size wouldn't fit, AND that I already HAD ONE!!
