[Zmagnette] Wire Wheels

I looked them up and yes Dayton does still make and sell bolt on wire wheel adapters, and even bolt on wheels that look like knock off hub type, but bolt on through the spokes. Moss sells these kits for MGAs and TR2 –4s , so should be available for Magnettes too.
Get the chrome wheels than you’ll never have a day without something to do, and save your old bed sheets for cutting up in foot long , inch wide strips for cleaning and polishing the chrome wire spokes properly...allow about 1 1/2 hour per wheel to make them look pretty nice and shined up...longer if you get the 72 spoke wheels instead of the usual 45 spoke ones for MGs and TRs. There should be plenty of room under the fenders for the MGA width wheels, and probably even the 5 1/2 inchers for the TR-3s without any alterations to the existing axles. Ask Kelvin for advice. Kelvin Dodd at Moss, who drives his own Magnette but with Mag looking wheels, he’ll know...

Lets don’t forget that there are (or were) some lovely bolt on wire wheel kits that bolt right up to the existing lug nuts with a new knock off hub assembly to which you attach your wire wheels./ Only adds about an inch total to the tread width so the ZB should have plenty of space in the fenders for the wheels.
Check the Dayton Wire wheel sources...I think they were the one with this conversion kit.

Mike:

Keep asking questions. I don't have any answers but I've thought about doing the same to my Magnette.
So, you're asking for at least two.

Thanks.

After thinking a lot about this after my last post I want to try to use as many MGA parts as possible with this wire wheel set up on my Magnette. What I would like to do is use Wire Wheel front hubs and use a Wire Wheel rear axle of some type, I need to check out the Track on rear ends cause I'm afraid if I have the Wire wheel hubs put on the existing axle shafts in the stock Magnette rear end, the Track will be off from the front and will look funny. I have an MGA WW rear end sitting here that I could use by relocating the spring pads. Does anyone know if this will work or perhaps an Early MGB rear end?

Thanks everyone for your patience on this I know I have been a Royal PITA,

  Mike H.
