 From the early BMC engine numbering system:
B=B series
P=Pushrod
15=displacement
and then a letter or two.

My series II Oxford has BP15M
M=Morris.
It has a bypass oil filter with standard LC 7.2:1 engine; no HC option.
I think the Oxfords only got the full-flow filter in mid-1956 with the 
series III and these had a different numbering system. I think.
