I'm planning to tackle the fresh air/heating system in my Series
V and am looking for any tips or warnings you all have. The
problems going in are that the heater core leaks (it's already
ruined the foam rubber on the air directional mechanism below the
core) and the fresh air doors are broken. What can you do about
a leaky core? Is the best route to try to obtain a new one?
I have obtained a set
of used fresh air doors with their mechanisms in tact. Any tips
on the best way to get the old ones out and how to install the
"new" ones. Finally, I'm considering replacing the cable trunk
mechanism with the bar type. I've got the necessary parts, but
I'm a little hesitent. I've never had any trouble with the
cable, and it seems to me that the chances of the nut working its
way loose from the bar is at least as likely as the cable
breaking. Nevertheless, I know that most people think that the
bar is the way to go. Comments would be greatly appreciated.?
