Rootes used a fabricated sheet metal tubular exhaust manifold on the
Series III roadster as well as the earlier Series. The Series III GT
used a less powerful Rapier engine with a cast iron manifold. They
switched to a new cast iron manifold with the same flow characteristics
as the tubular header for all of the Series IV and V. The cast iron was
much quieter.
