Upon close inspection of my Stromberg carbs on my Series V Alpine, I notice
that one is acting a little funky. The air valve dosen't seem to be as
smooth as the other one. It moves up and down fine, but there seems to some
resistence, resistence not found with other air valve in the other carb. My
guess is the carb cover is slightly off or bent causing this slight
resistence. I was considering rebuild the carbs anyway. Now for my
question: Can this be fixed, and if can, is it worth it? Also, what about
converting the dual carbs to one? Will doing this strip some of the
personality away from the car and does this decrease the value of the car?
Any input or insight would be greatly appreciated.
