I couldn't agree more! Frankly, I never felt the Tiger's trade offs -
nose heavy handling, poorly controlled rear axle, overheating and lousy
engine bay access were worth the extra acceleration. Especially when it
was tough to get that power to the ground in a usable form without
aftermarket help. The Alpine was a well balanced delight. In the
sixties I choose Alpines over Tigers and I still feel that way.

I sure hope this reply winds up in the Alpine reflector and not the
Tiger reflector. <G>
