I put 250,000 on my 1967 1725 with only a valve job. A friend got
300,000 on his 1966 SV with just a valve job. When I say "just a
valve" job, I mean that's the only major engine work. In my case, I
went through three alternators (incl relay), 2 starters, fuel pump,
differential case housing (it cracked), a head gasket, and assorted
other "extras." I believe my friend's experience was similar. But
the engine held up pretty well, I thought.
