You can buy a device that fits over the mouth of the carburettor and
registers amount of suction with a little ball that hits various
callibrated parts of a tube depending on air flow. One such device
goes under the brand name Uni-Syn. You then just move the device
back and forth from one to the other carb to compare suction.

Well, the manual says (if I remember correctly) to turn the jet
adjustment screws all the way in (up) until they just hit the bottom
of the carb's piston. Then, using an accurate tach (an "outboard"
type is probably better than the one that comes with the car, but not
essential) turn the screw out until the idle speed reaches a peak.

I notice that Victoria British sells a device for about $45 that is a
see-through, functioning spark plug. Depending on the color the
thing turns, it tells you whether your mixture is too weak or too
rich. I have never used it. Anyone have any experience with this
contraption?
