T.J.
I went through the OD search thing about a year ago. I
eventually found a rebuilt one at Tiger & Alpine Spares in
England. I believe the price was about $450 plus about $100 for
shipping. They also had a used example for about $150 less.
Recently, I've seen a couple of ODs advertised for about $1000.
Non-syncro transmissions with OD are generally less and easier to
find. The
OD adds length to the transmission so the drive shaft on a non-OD
car is too long. I was able to purchase a used example of the
proper length from T&A Spares for about $30. That has to be less
than getting yours shortened. Remember, you will also need a
switch. I bought one from Dave Franchi for $35 bucks. Other
bits such as a relay and stuff are also available from England
and possibly Rick and Tom. I can't remember where I got all of
these things, but I do remember that finding the right relay was
tricky. Let me know if you need any more info. BTW, it's also
a good time to replace the U-joints.
