The other day I was reading an article in the Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club
(England)1995 Members Handbook entitled "What About The Gearing? -
Differentials". The article states that Alpines without overdrive had a
3.89:1 differential and 4.22:1 with overdrive, with the following exception:
North American models from B94102641 through B395010312 all had 4.22:1
differentials.
Not that I don't have confidence in the article but .... Is this true? Any
ideas on why this was done?
I always thought that our Alpine (B395009965) was a little "buzzy" on the
highway.
