My original Sunbeam Alpine Series V owners manual had the following
correction included with it:
Erratum
Rear Axle Ratio (North American)
Commencing at chassis No. B.94102641LRX the rear axle ratio has
been altered to 4.22 on all cars for North America.
This would confirm the starting Serial Number although it doesn't
preclude some earlier units from having 4.22 rears. The reason was
increased acceleration
