Thanks for the suggestion and moral support. I put a series II distributor
in my series V and it works fine. I didn't have any trouble fitting it
in...I didn't think it would work because the II has some kind of gear or
something on the bottom that the V doesn't. It went in ok though and works
fine. I guess this is why I keep finding so many strange parts in the car.
People just keep improvising to make it work. I haven't driven it much. If
anyone else knows if this is a bad idea...let me know before I drive it
much (still have a little body work to do and a lot of painting)
