Does anyone have any experience in exhaust manifolds and pipes which are
larger than the stock 1 5/8"? I want to reduce the back pressure,
especially since my Holbay head exhaust ports are larger (1.21") than the
stock manifold (1.12"). So, right now I am running with an unacceptable
lip where the manifold meets the head. I have a stainless exhaust
manifold that is the right size for the head, but I believe it ends up
narrowing down to the stock 1 5/8" tube going all the way back. This
will cure any problems and back pressure resulting from the lip, but it
will not reduce back pressure. I understand that someone out there is
running straight 1 3/4" all the way back on a competition Alpine, but
this will not do for my local police and/or neighbors.
Thanks for any thoughts
