A related question

Thanks to Gary and Gary for confirming my suspicions about the driveline angle.
This leads to a couple of other questions.

Are there any ill effects from having the driveshaft angle toward one side of
the car? I have been told that as long as the pinion flange and transmission
output "flange" faces are in parallel planes you should be OK. I have even
heard that a little angle is required to keep the U-joint cups turning so the
needle bearings last longer. But does an angle to one side place undesirable
moments on the rear suspension? I guess if I had more time I could draw the
force vectors and think about it for a while.

I ask because I heard that the Tiger rear end location was "poor" and this
"poor" location is one of the factors contributing to the wheel hop problem.
Is the pinion location part of this alleged problem?

If one was to start from scratch with, say, a narrowed Ford 9" rear what
recommendations could be made for pinion location? What could be done to
correct any existing location problems if you were to start from scratch with a
modified axle?
