dmw(?),
I can't speak for the British, but at least in Holland a similar law was
passed and is active since January 1 of this year. A car of at least 25 year
old is no longer subject to roadtax. The only thing you need is insurance,
MOT and petrol. If you forget about the petrol this makes it possible to run
a 25 year old car for about 200 Dutch guilders (around 80 pounds or 120 $).
The latest trend is getting a, at least 25 year old, Yank-tank and convert
it to LPG. With Dutch road-tax being based on car- weight, people save
themselves around 4000, yes FOUR THOUSAND, Dutch guilders(around 1600 pounds
or 2400 $) per year.
Considering you British take much better care of your cultural heritage than
we Dutch, my hopes are quite high.
I'll keep my finger crossed for all you Brithish co-LBC-ers

"Wouldn't such a trip take hours, dear? It's such an old car" as my mother
in law said about a 130 mile trip with my Lancia. I took her for
a spin and she's still recovering......
'78 Mercedes Benz 280CE ------ Daily workhorse with a drinking problem.
'67 Triumph GT6 ------ Undergoing nut and bolt restoration .You need to
travel at least 6 miles to see all the parts.
'70 Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1.3S Rallye ------ Lots of fun, but would you
believe those Lancia parts prices.
