I may be mistaken, but I think that White Post does not recommend
silicone fluid in their resleeved cylinders. I don't know that there is
any reason to think it is incompatible with brass. It does seem,
however, to seep out through cracks and crevices when regular fluid
wouldn't. If I had to guess at why it should not be used in resleeved
cylinders, I would guess that the sleeve is an interference fit through
the original. At least one hole gets drilled through the sleeve to match
the original hole in the cylinder. There therefore is an opening to the
interstice between the cylinder and the sleeve, and the silicone might
leak out through it.
