Yes, these bulbs do get hotter. I would experiment a bit before
installing and forgetting them.
I posted about these bulbs several months ago so maybe someone on
the list has already tried them out. On my car they are not a
problem even though I have plastic lenses. On the other hand, my
tail lights are not sealed inside (I can change the bulbs from
inside the trunk) and I don't have reflectors.
