RE: S.O.S. report?

I went to the S.O.S. but feel that someone else should do a "report".
The "brief" report is that there were about 35 people and about 15 cars
there... guessing because the activities had us doing things at the same
time. About 6 Alpines, 8 or 9 tigers. Most all looked good, ran well. A
few minor problems: an alpine lost a rear hub 'pin' at the beginning of
our Saturday drive. Got him back to the hotel OK. An electrical problem
in one tiger and somebody required a jump, both fixed quickly.

We toured Fort Morgan after the planned Ferry crossing was cancelled due
to high winds. We took the long way to Mobile, AL to tour the USS
Alabama (battleship). Both days were windy & cold. Bright & sunny on
Sunday with a few brave souls going topless. The seafood was (of course)
worth the trip alone.

Lots of pictures.. one shot of all the 'beams' lined up with the beach
in the backgound. Mine are OK, but need to be enlarged. This was my
first event of Sunbeams only and I have owned a Tiger since 1967! I
couldn't get mine going soon enough, but convoyed down from Atlanta with
3 other cars.

Wish we had more of a 'parts' selection, but that was the only
disappointment. One guy had several used parts. We all got great looking
T-Shirts, had great BBQ & Hot Dog roast on the patio of the hotel.
Shared lots of stories, got lots of new tips, saw an auto w/air cond
Tiger which many of you may have seen already. Had people from Michigan,
Illinois, Florida, Georgia, & Alabama. Acouple tigers had the Mustang 5
speed.. interesting.

Had a blast, got inspired and ready to pull my engine as we speak to get
ready for the next event. Discussion came up on the next TEAE national
get together and hoping to do it in Orlando. Also discussed invading the
Chateau Elan (north of Atlanta) British Show where a few Sunbeams
appear. Decided we needed a greater presence at these shows. Anyway, I'm
sure we'll do it again. The Atlanta folks are talking of an Atlanta get
together (soon I hope) because there seem to be several owners here.

Didn't mean to get wordy. My assessment: should be bigger & better next
year!

P.S. Could you pass this on? I forgot to reply to all.
