A Sunbeam Californian is basicly a Sunbeam Imp coupe.
It has the same engine and floorplan, but has niceties
like split folding rear bucket seats extra equipment and
chrome trim.
The roofline is slightly lower then from the Imp.
It was first designed by the Rootes group in '67 only
about 6000 were made in total.
They were produced in Linwood in Schotland alongside all
the other Imp variants.
Some are called Singer Chamois coupe they are even more
luxerous as they had real wood trim all round inside.
