I thought about doing that too.. but in the end I just put a stereo under
the dash. You just need a "u" shaped bracket to allow it to hang from
the metal dash supports that stick out to hold the bottom of the dash.
There are some captive nuts already installed (and not being used) that
you can use. Two bolts and unplugging the power/speakers and antenna
and its out of there without any damage! Just don't tell the stereo
thieves ;-)
If you need a power converter for the boom box, just wire it in... maybe
you can find one with a 12v power jack and then you don't need a converter.

Yeah, you're not the only one!! Real tempting.. especially after that new
December issue of one of the British mags (the one with the Tigers racing
at the Isle of Mann.. good article by the way) has a great picture of an IMP
winning some big European rally of some kind... My opinion of those Imps
has gone way up!
