Assuming you are talking about the rear wheel opening question, the best I
can say is that the relation between the wheel opening and the wheel has
never seemed quite right to me. First, the radius of the rear wheel
opening is smaller than the radius of the front wheel opening. Then the
wheel does not seem to be placed quite correctly within the opening, as if
the wheelbase were a half inch wrong for the body. I think it may be that
the opening is fairly close to the size of the wheel, and when the car is
empty it sits a bit high and the relationship is wrong. Look at pictures
in the Gold Portfolio. Try page 61. To my eye, it gets more noticable
when the view is not side on, or if the tire is larger than stock. See
the top left of page 79, or the top of 122, or the bottom of 142.
Maybe the clearest example of all is the car with the hardtop on page
170. The wheel opening in the rear is wrong, somehow, in relationship to
the wheel.
