Ramon's probably gone home by now, so I can let you in on the story. The San
Diego Union-Tribune printed the results of Sunday's autocross, including
Ramon's class win. After sharing that news with all of you, I clipped the
item to send to him. Then I noticed that the top times for most classes were
in the 58 to 70 second range. Ramon's reported time was 662+ seconds. Hey,
if it wasn't true, they wouldn't print it, right?

I believe our local newspaper has laid off all the proofreaders and relies on
the computer spell-checker, but how do you spell-check numbers?

As to that other incident Ramon mentions, he is the only one I can't call a
slow poke. I mean, it WAS Ramon that caught up to me and told me to slow
down for the other Tigers. I do recall that as he pulled alongside, he had a
rather frenzied look - but Theresia was grinning from ear to ear. Either she
enjoyed the ride or was thinking "Now if I'D been driving, I would have
caught them a mile or two back."

That was the same day he first saw my '54 - and snickered! - saying his was
much better. Then was then, now is now.

So, Ramon, your Series II - just how soon will it be on the road? Will I
live to see it?

"Ole"
