An associate of mine has been asked to act as intermediary in the possible sale of a
highly restorable 1954 Sunbeam Talbot Mk IIA (Chassis# A3011504, Body# 21284) which has
been recently discovered in a the garage of an elderly lady here in Allentown,
Pennsylvania, USA. The lady is the owner of the Sunbeam, and has understandably no
experience dealing with the automobile restoration market. She is interested in
recovering a fair market value for the car. Since my associate does not have access to
internet facilities, I have volunteered to post this message to the Rootes-Sunbeam
marque internet community. The car is LHD, and was last driven in 1964 as evidenced by
the 1964 PA registration plate. The car is in need of restoration. The motor is absent,
and was presumably sent out for rebuild but never returned. The car has been under garage
cover from 1964 to the present, and the body has no rust with all glass intact. The
interior is aged, and seat leather and headliner cloth would probably have to be
replaced, but otherwise seems quite serviceable. The exterior chrome has some non-rust
corrosion but very little rust pit-through. Interior chrome is amazingly clean. The car
is a Mk IIA with rear fenderskirts deleted and has slotted wheels. The original "Supreme
Sunbeam Talbot" key fob is in the car. Sunroof is funtional and the "flicker" turn
signals are undamaged and in excellent shape.
If it would be possible for you to relay this information to associates possibly
interested in such a restoration, I'm sure it would be appreciated by all parties.
I have seen the car and would be happy to answer any questions on its observed condition
through e-mail at:
