1965 Sunbeam Alpine (Series IV) FOR SALE
BACKGROUND: One owner, unrestored car with 40,000 miles. Stored in a garage from
1972-1989, then licensed, put back on the road, and driven occasionally. The
car has been parked outside since 1990.
CONDITION: The orginal black paint was repainted BRG (at home) in 1980 and is
rough in appearance. Plastic windows in the hard top have discolored and there
is some rust on the bottom of the passenger side door, the front cowling (just
below the hood), and pitting on the bumpers. Two hub-caps have been replaced
with a Chrysler product, otherwise it's as purchased (with some loving wear).
The motor runs well, the oil pressure is good, and there are no fluid leaks.
The soft top is like new (except for a small mouse hole in the side) and all the
ancillary parts (e.g., jack, tonneau cover, etc.) are still with the car.
When the car was put back on the road in 1989 most rubber pieces were replaced
(weather striping that was not replaced was purchased but not installed). Rod
bearings, shocks, break solenoid, exhaust, tires and other deteriorated parts
were also replaced. Within the last year the radiator was recored and a new
battery installed. In a nutshell, the car was carefully maintained to keep it
running and dependable, but not restored.
PRICE: The car belongs to my wife, and it's a very emotional issue to sell it.
However, it's not used and the deterioration is beginning to show so she wants
to find a good home for the car. Hopefully it will go to someone that is
interested in driving it, not parting it out. The bottom line -- we want to
sell the car NOW. If you love Alpines, make a reasonable offer and drive it
away.
Please contact me via U.S. mail, E-Mail, or telephone -- I am not on this list
anymore.
