Alpine heads are notorious for galvanic distruction. New gasket or not, the headgasket must have adequate sealing area around the water pasages "where the distruction is prevelant". This little problem has cost me hundeds of dollars and ultimately I found a really good head as a replacement. You may find you have the same problem.

P.S. if you really have a blown head gasket, the radiator can be easily over pressurized and damaged by combustion gasses so fix it quickly.

Where is the leak. Gasket problems will typically cause the engine to appear to be boiling, with gas bubbles in the water. Water will come from the overflow pipe. When the engine cools, it often draws water into the cylinder(s). This is noticable on starting.

If you are losing power due to a gasket, you will know it. You will be running on less than 4, and is usually very noticable at idle( missing cylinder, rough).
