I had clunking with my wire wheels and could never get it to go away, so I repleaced the wire hubs for 4 lug hubs, only to find that all of my woes were a severely worn and urepairable key/keyway. Many years of use had worrked the whole assembly loose and resulted in the attempted shearing of the key.
