While you're on the note of motor mods, did you notice if the crank in 
the 1725 was steel? Are the rods forged? I have yet to see the insides of 
a 1725, and I have pondered aquiering one just for rebuilding purposes, 
to know what I would be getting into. I think the alpine motors would 
hold their own better if the oil pump was a little beefier. Mine only 
pushes 30 lbs at 60 mph, and 15 at idle!
