Hello all,
Yet again I come to you with more questions. Well everything is working swell with my Series II driver. The first think that is bugging me is the clutch pedal, it has a ton of slop in it, and was wondering if anyone has experienced this type of problem and what a good remedy is for it. It appears to be the pivot pin that is at fault. The second thing is, when I push the clutch in while the car is stationary (specialy in the morning) the engine idle goes down quite alot, more so than I have yet to see in any manual shift car. Is this normal?? Supposedly the cluth was replaced about a year before it was parked in 1990. Those are really about all that seems to be out of the ordinary in driving the car daily for a month now besides low oil pressure (60cold 30hot) and an occaisional overheating problem (but I don't blame the car when I drive it in 108º in traffic). So I am very satisfied with our little Alpine. Has anyone ever tried using that heat insulating wrap for headers? The header gets pretty toasty on the really hot days, and I would like to try and cool it down under the hood as well as under the carbs. I am so fire paranoid, since the car has nearly burnt to the ground once. Well thanks in advance!!!!
