I am certain that Alpines were entered in the East African Safari Rally,
originally the Coronation Safari Rally. I do not know what year the Alpines
may have competed. Maybe the rootes group page would have info. There is
also a rootes group page devoted to tapes made by the rootes group of
rallies (mostly 60s). The page is a commercial venture to sell tapes. I do
not know the costs.
If you ever run into information or articles relating to the 1956 E.A.
Safari Rally, please let me know. My grandfather, was the driver and
finisher in that year in a Simca. I also collect Safari models wherever
possible.
