Pacer Bashing!

Well all this Pacer bashing has brought up some interesting memories from
my past. I had a 77 AMC Pacer Wagon that I bought new. The wagon was
nicer...didn't have that look of an egg that was stepped on. Anyway, it was
a good car except for leaking fluid of every type through every seal. The
Pinto comment was good too...My final choice for a car in 77 was the Pacer
or a 77 Pinto wagon. My vehicle selection hasn't been too good! The car I
sold to buy the Pacer was a 1973 Chevrolet Vega! Now that had to be the
poorest car ever built. It was the "Mission Impossible car. "This vehicle
will self destruct in 30,000 miles" It did! I wouldn't think there would be
anyone trying to restore one of those. No one could ever remanufacture
parts of such poor quality. (except maybe GM) I heard the Pontiac Fiero has
a lot of Vega parts.

Anyway...these memories of bad vehicle decisions bring me to the worst
decision in 1973. The car I sold to buy the Vega was my pride and joy
Commodore Blue '67 Series V Alpine! I got $500 for it in nice condition
with hardtop/soft/tonneau and 60K+miles. I often wonder whatever happened
to it. So two years ago I finally had to come to grips with that miserable
mistake. Right now I am driving another 67 Commodore Blue Series V! Its
been two years of a lot of work but its painted and running. Still needs
lots of parts and I have a Series II waiting for its turn for an engine
transplant. So I'm finally able to sleep at night, having brought an Alpine
back from the dead!
