doesn't start when it's warm. Most starters available these days are
"rebuilts" not new, and I had to go through three (!) Lucas factory

Well I'm on my second "new" starter. If it turns out to be a problem only with
the heat, then maybe a heat shield between the starter and the exhaust manifold
might help.
