Hi Alpiners !

Yes I'm back on the list after my holidays with my Alpine in Britain.
I attended the Alpine international weekend 1996 at Paddock Wood Kent
England and enjoyed myself very much.
There were about 120 Alpines, Tigers and Harringtons, a pretty good
turnout I would say, well done !
12 of them from Zwitserland 10 from Belgium 3 German and 3 Dutch.
Lots of spares were also for sale very nice when you can get all the
missing parts, softtop, chrome rear
There was a bbq going on and driving tests as well as trips with a period
Harrington bus to the vinyards of Lamberthurst, yes they really pro-
duce wines in England !
Best of all I made a lot of new friends as well.
And after that weekend I had another international weekend from the Imp
Club another great event and with 300 Imps a lot bigger.
The concept was the same drivingtests, concours, bbq, barn dance, trips
spares for sale etc.
The Imps varied from concours to rallye spec and everything in between
all in all very Impressive.
Lot's of parts for sale here too so you can imagine my car was quite
a bit heavier when I returned to Holland !
By the way I did 1200 km without any trouble and the Alpine didn't use
hardly any oil or water.
The overdrive was used often also on the third gear on the small winding
country lanes, great fun.
The only problem is that my rev counter still isn't accurate, I have
replaced an old capacitor which was cracked and retuned it with an external
rev-counter/dwell meter at idle but it now doesn't read more than 2100
revs !
Any ideas out there ?

Thanks,
Bert Clewits
