This weekend I was lucky enough to see David Letterman's private auto
collection! Once before I reported here seeing from a distance an
airplane hanger at Santa Monica Airport with cars in it. This time I got
there in time to catch the guy who maintains the cars and get a private
tour. These are the cars I remember (all in immaculate condition):

Austin Healey Bug-eye
Austin Healey 100-4
Austin Healey 100-6
Austin Healey 3000
Austin Healey (something between the 100-6 and the 3000)
Porsche 356 Speedster
Porsche 356 Speedster Carrera!
Porsche 356 Convertible D
Porsche 356 C Coupe
Porsche 356 B Coupe
Porsche 914-6
Porsche 911 - 80's
GMC Pickup Truck
BMW early two door 6 series
Fiero GT V6 - his NY town car
Also, I did not see it, but he also has a 1953 Sunbeam Alpine now under
restoration! Ole, did you hear that?
Is he really one of us? Does he just have too much money to burn? Will
he have a Top Ten for reasons to love/hate/buy/junk LBCs?
The guy who gave me the tour also said that Jerry Seinfeld's collection
(mostly Porsche's) and Charlie Sheen's collection (mostly muscle) are also
in hangers at the same airport, with Jay Leno's collection (motorcycles
and high end classic cars) at the Burbank Airport.
You know what this all means? I better figure out how to make more money!
