Subject: S.V Alpines for sale

There's a series V (?) with parts car available on the upper Texas coast.
I have not seen either, but have talked with the owner. I didn't get the
VINs, but believe they are '67s titled as '68s. The "good" car was a
driver when stored 4 years ago, but has the chrome/seats removed for a paint
job that never happened. The parts car is complete (transmission in trunk),
but not rolling due to having only 3 of 4 wire wheels - it has been parked
outside with a bad (no?) top for 4+ years, so is probably a basket case. He's
asking $1,400obo, but hinted that he'd be open to something around $1,100.
They were still available as of Wednesday.

He appears to be a hobbyist who happened to fall into these cars about 4 years
ago. He knows cars, but not much about Alpines. Doesn't think they have OD,
but not sure, etc. Seems like a good deal for someone wanting to build a
nice S.V, but not so good if you're after an immediate driver.

I have no interest in the cars beyond a temptation to purchase them myself.
They are 5 hours away from me, so I will not be much help other than providing
the phone number: 409.745.3235.

I would appreciate hearing if someone on the list picks them up.

Regards, Bob Douglas S.II
