Early Alpine Sway Bars

This message is to series I, II and III alpines, and relates to the
fact that no aftermarket anti-sway bar is available for these marks.

Victoria British claims in thier catalog that 12345 alpines all use the
same bar. I bought a used Series 5 bar and it is not even close "the
angles on the lower control arms are different". ADDCO says the same as
Victoria British, but can not provide me the name of a single satisfied
early alpine customer.

I've spoke to Rick at Sunbeam Specialties. and Curt at Classic Sunbeam.
and they say that the early bar is a different application. This I believe
having tried it.
Little irritates me more than being told to buy something by somebody who
has no idea what fits my car. I find this typical of Victoria British, but
thats another story entirely.

Originally the Rootes Group offered 7/8 sway-bars and lowered front
springs for road racing the series IIs. I've road raced my car and have
problems with my inside rear wheel lifting in the turns due to too much
front end roll. A larger sway bar is in order at least for me.

I propose that if there is interest in a limited production of 7/8 inch
early sway bars, I would like to form a group to design, fund and over see
the manufacture for these bars on a one time basis. I have no idea what it
will cost for the bending and heat treating, but the materials cost of the
4140 steel is about $20 each.

Any interested parties?????
