Humber power steering

You had asked about power steering available on Rootes cars. Humber began
offering power-assisted steering on their Burman recirculating ball systems with
the all-new Super Snipe Series I in 1958. It was optional until the Series V in
1964 when it became standard. It was fitted at the factory, but my literature
does not say who the manufacturer was and what type of unit it was. I seriously
doubt it could be fitted on the Alpine but maybe someone else could comment on
that.

Anyone else out there with further information to add?
