What this means is the car was originally delivered to Australia. L for
"low compression" engine. R for "right hand drive", R for "roadster", O for
"ordinary specifications" (as opposed to X). You see our petrol was as bad
then as it is now, so Alpines destined for Australia got 8.5 to 1, instead
of 9 to 1.
