A while back there were discussions about oil pressure build time on
alpines.
I believe I recall someone mention that a Rootes Service Bulletin talked of
relocating one of the oil cooler hoses over the engine. The Bulletin reads
that the purpose for the change is to prevent the oil cooler hoses from
rubbing on something and thus prevents oil leakage.
Since it was mentioned that alpines that had this service performed did not
seem to suffer from oilbuild delay, am I to assume that this bulletin fixes
two seperate items.
If this modification does in fact keep the oil from draining back into the
sump, can somebody explain how?
This issue is very relevant to me right now, as I am putting the final
touches on the engine, and currently suffer from the oil buildup delay.
As a side note, when I had my 1592cc engine in place "without oil cooler",
the oil sprung to at least 20 PSI even while cranking. No delay period.
Your assistance and comments would be appreciated.
