Manufacture of Series V's started in Sept '65 and ended in Jan '68 - total
production of 19,122. I get the impression that production and sales had
slowed during the last several months, as promotion became non-existent.
I haven't heard of anyone having actual surviving Alpine production records,
but with a low 9,000 range VIN, early Fall of 1966 is a good guess for
production date for your car.
Color code #58 is "Midnight Blue", described in the Sunbeam Alpine Club's
Member Handbook as a "very dark and slightly greyish blue used from late
Series IV to early Series V."
You mention in another post that there are at least 30 Alpines in South
Africa. Have you ever come across one of those South African-built Tigers?
