Gads. I've never run any of my Rootes cars on any multi-grade LIGHTER than
20W-50, and I try to use on single-grades, Castrol racing oil when I could
still find it. I did use Havoline for a while, when I had a cracked ring
and the thing was acting like an oil pump, because I could buy it cheap at
the PX.
I'd suggest Castrol 20W-50 GTX. Even in the dead of winter, you ought to be
able to crank it over. You ARE using the strangler, aren't you?
