In regards to your question on the rod bolts. We have the NOS bolts and nuts
in stock, have had them for years. Bolts run $2.75, nuts $1.00. Since I've
never had a failure problem with my Series V, I can't understand why everyone
is going nuts over this. Out of the 16 Alpines I've owned, the only problem
that was common was a failure on the number three rod bearing. This problem
can be traced to the oil passage to the rod and can be modified to avoid this
problem.
