Richard and Others,
I suggest you read the owners manual or shop manual and use what is
recommended as my 1953 and '54 Sunbeams all run with the recommended SAE30
Non-Detergent motor oil and the drophead coupe I have owned for the past 35
years with lots of use. When I bought it in '62, the gearbox had a broken
first/reverse idler gear and was also running with SAE90 hypoid gear oil so
"go figgure". If it says to use SAE30 motor oil, use it.
