My alpine motor had a tendancy to spill the contents of the float bowls onto
the exhausts (damn strombergs) under heavy turning. I could smell and
sometimes see gasoline vapours from under the hood. This scared me ever so
much, so I bought an extinguisher, and eventually dumped the carbs in lieu
of fuel injection.
I never had to use the extinguisher, but I'm darn glad I had it handy.
BTW I keep mine right atop the transmision tunnel.
