After 2 years of hanging around on the Tigers and Alpines lists I bought
a Series 5. I picked it up about 65 miles from where I live so I towed
it (it runs fair to poor but doesn't stop well) There's nothing like
convincing your wife that it's a good idea to spend a bunch of money on
a car that you have to tow home ;-) That's also part of the reason I
didn't get a Tiger. The other part being I can only justify digging into
my kids college fund for a few grand. (He's got 16 more years for me to
save!)
When I got it home I drove it around the block where it promptly killed
and was having trouble restarting. A guy in a Merkur pulls up beside me
and says "Do you want me to help you push it? I used to have a Triumph."
