Thanks for all the replies, this is very interesting, I really thought our
petrol was a bit poor compared to everyone else but apparently, this is not
so. I checked the details last night at work (console operator in a petrol
station to supplement my income to pay off the Alpine).
Leaded: 96 octane 76.1 cents per litre
Premium U/L: 95 octane ~80 cents per litre
U/L: 91 octane 73.9 cents per litre
The Aussie dollar is worth about 80 US cents at the moment.
They are currently increasing the tax on leaded petrol to encourage people
to update their cars and eventually it will be 5 cents more a litre than
unleaded.
