There are two Hillman Minxes sitting in a guy's backyard in San Jose. He
says that they were running at the time that he parked them (20 years
ago). They are complete except for one car is missing the back windshield.
Contrary to popular opinion, California cars can rust. Both of these cars
have considerable rust in the sills, bottom doors, and fenders. I was
unable to look underneath the cars as they have sunk into the mud. The
interior of one car is salvagable, but the other one needs to be
completely redone. If anyone is interested in these cars for restoration
(tough job) or parts cars, call Ray Talavera at (408) 298-4411. He wants
$500 for the pair, but if several people in the group call and laugh
hysterically, he may be primed for reality.
