I noted in a message from Doerrer(at)aol.com that he mentioned the pilot
bearing was too difficult to get out. I thought so too until I got a really
good tip, and it is actually as easy as eating pie. You use hydraulics.
Fill the pilot bushing and space behind it with a medium grease....I use
wheel bearing grease. Get a flat ended metal shaft just smaller than the
hole in the pilot bearing, place it just in the hole, and tap (not too
hard) on it with a hammer. After about three taps, which probably move the
trapped air around, the pilot bushing just starts walking out.
