Follow Up - Suspension

Just wanted to follow up on a message I posted a while back. My
     original message was as follows:

"I have several observations/questions. First, when I go over 70 MPH,
the front end is very unstable. i.e. if I turn slightly, it is
difficult to bring the car back in a straight line. It wants to over
compensate. The steering is tight and it doesn't veer to the left or
right. Is this an alignment problem? A weight problem? - I have
noticed that the car is significantly harder to turn when the car is
not rolling. Also, the rear axle is not original. I don't know where
it came from (Capri?) and the previous owner put adapters on the hubs
to accept the wires. This pushes the tires out approx 2-3 inches. Is
     this a factor in steering?"

To make another long story short, the car had an after-market steering
wheel that didn't exactly fit on the steering column. The result is
that the steering had a slight amount of "play." Last weekend, I
installed an original steering wheel which corrected 80% of the
symptoms. I concede that there is still a loose tie rod end or
something else that is the root cause, but at least now it is more
manageable at highway speeds. I have an appointment with a local
alignment shop who is confident he can identify any other loose or
     worn parts.

I also installed a pair of original seat belts. I love those things.
This is the first time in 17 years that I have had seatbelts in a
     Sunbeam.
